The water that discharges from our taps come from the Shoal Lake area near First Nations communities. The lake has been ensured with protection from both the Manitoban and Ontarian governments to oppose any chemicals that might want to enter the lake.
The tap water in Winnipeg is secure to drink and has surpassed the necessary required drinking quality guidelines set by Health Canada. While cleaning the water chlorine is used to kill any diseases such as E-coli and fluoride is added to the water to prevent tooth decay. The tap water is constantly being tested everyday for any chemicals or high levels of chlorine unlike bottled water where it does not require guidelines that are as demanding as the one tap water must pass.
The choice is up to you whether you would like to pay for water in a bottle that is exceedingly over priced or fill a reusable water bottle with safe, clean, and enjoyable water from the tap. Drain the idea that bottled water is the superior choice and start to drink from the tap.

  1. The tests that take place on water really show how safe it is. Testing water is important not only for checking to see if it is safe for drinking but also for checking the safety of the environment.
